Look at that.. two weeks in the 160s!! Yayyyyy!! I'm only 4 pounds away from a 70-pound loss.. that's awesome! And I'm 18 pounds away from no longer being "overweight." How CRAZY is that?!
I am SUUUPER sore from Zumba Toning training on Saturday. I'm talking to the point where I have to push off my quads with my hands to stand up. I'm not running this week, just doing Zumba tomorrow and Thursday. Tonight, I'm taking the night off. I have a wicked headache right now and it's super chilly out... I was going to walk Lucy, but I very rarely have a night where I don't have to do anything, so I think I'm going to enjoy the fact that I can be lazy and crash on the couch for awhile. We'll see if some Diet Coke zaps this headache.

Zumba Toning.
I was licensed in Zumba Toning yesterday... woohoo! Who thought those little 1 lb. weights could leave a girl so sore? I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and my body felt like lead. Not running today like I had planned, going to rest and walk the Lu instead, since I do have Zumba at 1:30.
This week has been great. I have stuck to my plan. I've made a few substitutions, but the calories have not changed. For instance, Friday night, I had an egg white omelette with fat free cheese and ham with two pieces of whole grain toast with spray butter and sugar free jam instead of chili. I was just getting tired of it.
Last night, I let myself indulge, only because I had plans to go to a cocktail party at a friend's house. Lots of food, but I didn't feel sick, which is a step... but I still let myself eat a little more than I should.
I'm pretty excited to see my weight on Tuesday.. it's consistently been in the 160s this week -- woohoo!
ANNNND.. 6 days 'till Tyler Arboretum 10K!

Last Week: 171.8
This Week: 169.0
Week's Loss: 2.8 lb.
Week's %: 1.63%
Total Loss: 64.0 lb.
Total %: 27.46%
Current BMI: 28.1
Total BMI Change: 10.7
Now THAT is what I'm talking about! Officially in the 160s. I know I can stay here. So excited to see a loss this week!
I did really well with my food yesterday & today's been pretty good as well. I forgot my lunch box at home with all of my fruit and the rest of my breakfast in it, so all I've eaten today is toast with peanut butter, a turkey & swiss cheese sandwich, a single serving bag of Nut-trition, 1/2 Balance Bar, and a few Bugles before I saw how much saturated fat was in them and gave them to a student, lol.
This week was kickin' with Zumba. I taught straight through from Wednesday through Monday, with 2 hours on Friday and 2 hours last night. Came home tonight all excited to go run outside, but once I started moving, it was all I could do to make my legs go. They were in bad shape this morning, so I should have known better. I at least got abot 2 1/2 miles in... I'm going to go force myself to do some arms and abs work here in a bit.
I'm trying not to stress about the tired legs today. I have 45-minute Zumba sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. I think that during Thursday's class I'll take it easy so I feel good to run on Friday. My 10K is next Saturday, so I'm 11 days away. I think it's going to be a mental fight for me. I know I'm fully capable of running a 10K, it's whether I want to do it that morning or not, as terrible as that sonds. I have days where I feel like I could get up and run 10 miles, then there are days where I feel like I'd rather eat paint than run.
When we ran the Race Against Racism last year, Dad hadn't ran or anything to prepare for the race, but he killed it with his time. I think I have a lot of my Dad in me where one day, I just decide I want to do something and I do it. Hopefully that's me on April 2nd... :)

Experiment.
I'm going to try an experiment this week.
I typically take a frozen meal for lunch every day of the week. This week, I'm not buying any frozen meals. I'm going to take pitas with turkey, brown rice and chicken, etc. for lunch with fresh fruit and veggies and see if that effects my weight loss. I'm at such a standstill.. and yes, I realize that part of that is my lack of self-control when it comes to happy hours and McDonald's advertising, but I'm wondering if possibly part of the standstill is the amount of sodium in my diet. So, I'm going to stick with this Monday-Friday and see what happens.
Here goes!
Goodbye, frozen food.

The Food Monster.
I am struggling so much with food right now.
My schedule is all messed up because of PSSAs. My job situation is stressing me out.
Yesterday, I had a Shamrock Shake while watching the Biggest Loser. How sick am I?
Today, I had a snack bag of Doritos at lunch, not bad. My calories were planned low, so I needed something to boost them anyway.
After Zumba, I went to McDonald's and got a crispy chicken sandwich with everything on it and a medium fry. I ate it all except for a few fries which I gave to Lucy. But I still wasn't satisfied... after I showered, I had a serving of tator tots baked in the oven. Then, I had a Weight Watchers ice cream bar a few minutes ago.
Total, I probably ate over 2500 and some calories today. Gross...
I have got to rein this in. I planned some more food tomorrow, total calories around 1300. Sometimes I feel like I'm not eating enough considering how much I work out.
It's hard doing this on my own sometimes...

Well, it's a loss! Hahaha.. I kicked ass working out this week. Here's a recap of the week:
Tuesday: 5 1/2 mile run
Wednesday: 45 minutes Zumba
Thursday: 20 minutes Zuma (short session with some of the girls)
Friday: 3 1/2 mile run
Saturday: 3 mile walk/5 1/2 miles on the CrossRamp
Sunday: 4 mile walk/1 hr. Twisted Turo
Monday: 1 hr. Zumba
Total of 30 miles for the week, including my Lucy walks! Most miles ever.
Food could've been better.. I didn't log. I've noticed that it really helps me when I'm logging, so I'm promising myself that I will do it this week. My schedule is all funky because of PSSAs, so I want to make sure I'm planning ahead so I don't get all anxious about what and when I'm eating.
I also have my period this week, which tends to bump things up a bit. Let's keep our fingers crossed for something great next Tuesday. :)

Shoes.
Last week, I went to Flying Feet here in York to be fitted for a new pair of running sneakers. I found out that not only were my Nike's ridiculously old, they were also a size too big. No wonder I've been getting huge blisters! On top of that, the pair of Sauconys that I ordered months ago were an 8 1/2... I'm actually only a size 7 now. Whoops.
Anyway, I got a pair of Brooks Ghost 3's and I am in love. I wore them for the first time tonight with no goal other than just getting out and running, seeing how they fit, and getting my legs moving. I ended up putting in 5.45 miles with some good hill climbs and didn't blister, didn't rub, nothing. I love these shoes. I even jazzed them up with sparkly rainbow shoelaces. ;)
So, tonight I sat down and ordered new Zumba shoes and new trail runners. I spent too much money, but honestly for me, it's about having the right gear now. Now I know that I take this seriously - both the race training and my Zumba career, so I don't feel bad about sinking money into it if it means that I will be more successful in training and that I won't come home at night feeling like I'm going to fall over because my legs hurt so bad.
Besides, there's something super exciting about coming home from work and seeing that box sitting on the front porch... almost better than Christmas morning. ;)

Nike Air Pegasus+ 27 Trail
Loved these as running shoes. They were my second runner-up, right behind the Ghosts for my new shoes, but I thought I'd give Brooks a try. I'd been running in the Pegasus+ 26 for awhile and I loved them, so I'm hoping I love the trails just as much.
Nike Free XT Quick Fit+
For Zumba... no reason other than they look kick-ass. ;) (Oh, and I've read great things about them.)
(Can you tell that I have a love for Nike?)

Grr to myself. I had a crap weekend. I ate so much c r a p on Friday that I ended up sick to my stomach. It was one of those days where I had already messed up, so I thought I would just mess it up even more, topped it off with a Baskin Robbins ice cream around 9:30. Grr.
I also didn't run. My legs were shot Friday night and for whatever reason, I just couldn't get myself back into the groove come Saturday. Sunday was just as bad. I literally did nothing. Not even a long walk with Lu.
Honestly, I'm impressed that I didn't gain more than that. I thought it was going to be worse... HOWEVER, sitting here looking at my weight loss chart, I haven't been out of the 170s since last JUNE!!!!!! Almost a year at the same weight... which is wonderful for maintaining, but I'm trying to lose! GRR.
I need to work a little harder.
I'm hoping that the half-marathon training, longer evenings, and more Zumba classes will help. I gotta get my food on track too.
I can do this. :)

Off track.
I'm having a really hard time keeping my eating on track this week. It's been really stressful, really crazy. I know that I can have a few days where I'm not on-point and not be able to undo the damage, but it makes me frustrated with myself because I know that I could get myself to 100 pounds down if I could pull my shit together.
Okay, self. Today is your last day to be bad. Tomorrow, you're back to normal, girlie.

Cheesesteak.
Today was a terrible day at work. I had nachos for lunch because my lunch didn't seem appealing. I was going to stop by McDonald's and pick up dinner after Zumba, but I ended up getting a cheesesteak turnover from the vault. WITH mayo. AND a bag of chips.
And I liked it.
Did I need it? No.
Should I really have eaten it? No.
But am I a normal human being who should be able to do things like this every now and then? Yes.
Will I gain 5 pounds because of this? No.
Tomorrow is another day.

And again... lowest weight ever! But, excuse me. What the hell happened to those 160s!? I'm not even kidding when I tell you that EVERY. DAY. since last Wednesday, I have seen a number in the 160s on the scale. My scale hates me on Tuesdays. Regardless, it's still the lowest weight ever! I'll take it.
I kicked ass this week. I had a great week of running, of sticking to my meal plans, and not being lazy. I just felt really good. I'll take losing just a pound because I know I was really successful this week, whether the scale shows it or not.
I realized that if I lose at a rate of about 1 1/2 pounds a week until October 1, I can hit 133 by the Megatransect, which would give me a total loss of 100 pounds. Can you imagine!? And that's TOTALLY DOABLE!! I don't know if my body is meant to be 133, but wow, just thinking that I can actually do that is enough motivation for me. Let's do it!
